Summer Blog Entry: August 22-September 4

Here is the Utah roster that has been announced so far with contracts being approved by the ECHL.

Utah Coach Tim Branham is feeling very good about what has transpired for the Grizzlies so far this summer.
A  player that will be announced in September played 2 games with Utah after college last season. The team has also added another goaltender who played against Utah after finishing college at the end of the season. Again, these will all be announced coming up.
More teases will follow pending contracts being approved by the ECHL. 3 contracts are in the mail.
The team will unveil their 20th season in Utah logo on Monday.
The Grizzlies office took the Ice Bucket Challenge last week after being challenged by Head Coach/GM Tim Branham.
Coach Branham continues to recruit while also spending two weeks in England working with local youth players and the Telford Tigers, whom the Grizzlies recently partnered with.

The Grizzlies re-signed Michael Pelech on Thursday, he will go from number 33 to 23 this year.

Utah's next two signings will be a point-a-game rookie forward out of college and a puck moving defenseman who played two games in the AHL following college in 2012-2013 and spent the last year in Europe.
A Western Conference affiliation change occurred on Tuesday when Colorado announced an affiliation with Calgary. The Flames spent the last year in Alaska after Utah flipped to the Ducks in August of 2013.
Grizzbee will be at the Salt Lake Bees game tonight celebrating their mascot Bumble’s birthday.

The Grizzlies next player signing announcement will come Monday with a returning player and the first player to actually sign with the team earlier this summer being re-introduced.

Looks like two Grizzlies teammates are going to connect this weekend with both Brendan Jamison and Vinny Scarsella tweeting today:

Grizzlies owner Dave Elmore was officially inducted into the Pacific Coast League’s Hall Of Fame last weekend in Colorado Springs recognizing over 40 years of service in professional baseball and hockey. Grizzbee and other team executives were in attendance. The Elmore Sports Group includes: the Grizzlies and baseball teams in Colorado Springs, San Antonio, San Bernardino, Eugene and Idaho Falls.
Trainer Mike Plandowski just completed another year providing medical support for the Days of ‘47 Rodeo. He has provided support for the event since 2010.
ICYMI, the Grizzlies signed rookie forward H.T. Lenz on Monday. He served as the captain at the University of Vermont the last three years.
Thursday, the Grizzlies re-signed forward and third leading scorer from last year Mathieu Aubin. He is ready to go after suffering that horrible injury on April 9 and missing the playoffs.
