Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations

Kevin Colley has 62-57-25 in two years as Grizzlies Head Coach has led Utah to the playoffs in each of his first two seasons as the Grizzlies bench boss. He was given a multi-year contract extension on April 20, 2009 after leading the Grizzlies to their third playoff appearance in four years in 2008-2009 as the ECHL's youngest coach. On September 16, 2009; Colley announced a working agreement with the Calgary Flames in addition to the team's current affiliation with the New York Islanders. He was named the Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations on September 4, 2008 replacing Jason Christie who was named Assistant Coach for the AHL’s Chicago Wolves a day earlier. He enters his third season with Utah after serving as Christie's Assistant Coach in 2007-2008 helping the Grizzlies to the conference finals for the first time in a decade. Kevin came to Utah after retiring as an Islander on February 24, 2006 due to an injury sustained January 31, 2006 versus Washington. 2005-2006 was Colley’s rookie season in the NHL. He played 16 games and recorded 52 penalty minutes for the Islanders. The native of Connecticut made his NHL debut October 27, 2005 at Madison Square Garden versus the New York Rangers. The Islanders signed him as a free agent on June 11, 2004. In April of 2006, Colley was honored with the Bob Nystrom award, which is given to the Islander who best exemplifies leadership, hustle and dedication. Colley was named MVP of the 2003 Kelly Cup Playoffs winning the championship with Atlantic City. In addition, he was named to the ECHL All-Star Game in 2002 and 2003. Overall, Colley played in 396 total professional games; including 166 in the ECHL and 214 in the AHL. The 5-foot-11 forward tallied 117 goals and 140 assists for 257 points and 1050 penalty minutes during his professional career. He played in the ECHL with Charlotte, New Orleans, Pensacola, Dayton and Atlantic City; while logging AHL games with Bridgeport, Worcester, Syracuse, Rochester, Providence and Hartford. Kevin resides year-round in the Salt Lake suburb of Draper.
