The Grizzlies enter the week at 6-2-2-0 in their last ten games as they continue their seven-game home stand with Colorado Friday and Saturday at Maverik Center.
Saturday Nights At Maverik Center
7,656 fans on Saturday night for Veterans Day Presented by Metro PCS was an early largest crowd of the season. The Grizzlies are currently averaging 6,621 for their first four Saturday night games and are currently seventh in the 27-team ECHL with 5,167 fans-per-game through seven games during the most competitive time of the year in Utah for the entertainment dollar.

Saturday, is the team’s first Pooch on the Pond. Fans can bring their dogs for $28 when purchasing in advance at (801) 988-8021. Tickets will be $32 the day of the game. The first 300 dogs in attendance will get a Grizzlies Dog Bowl. Now 97.9 will host a Best In Show during the first intermission.
In addition Saturday, the Grizzlies will be wearing Anaheim Ducks themed jerseys for the Angel’s Hands Foundation. The jerseys will be auctioned off live after the game with all proceeds going to the Angel’s Hands Foundation.
Grizzlies goaltender Kevin Carr is 5-1-1-0 in his last seven starts. Saturday, he was 11:11 away from his league leading second shutout of the year as he stopped the first 26 shots from Fort Wayne. His .919 save percentage is the best by a Grizzlies goaltender with over five starts since the 2013-2014 season.
Ryan Walters’ Tear Continues
With two goals Saturday, Ryan Walters now has two goals and seven assists for nine points in his first five games back with Utah. He is a plus-four and has multiple-points in three of his last five games. The Grizzlies are 3-0-2-0 with Ryan Walters in the lineup so far this season.
Utah is 6-0-1-0 when scoring first this year and 5-0-1-0 when scoring a power-play goal.
Richart Keeps Scoring
Grizzlies defenseman Taylor Richart is tied with Michael Pelech for the team lead in goals with six after both scored on Saturday 5 minutes and 26 seconds apart. Richart is tied for the ECHL lead in goals by defensemen and fourth in the ECHL in scoring by defensemen with six goals and five assists for 11 points in 14 games.
Entering The Week
Ryan Olsen leads Utah entering the week with a four-game scoring streak on two goals and three assists.
Back In The Lineup
Defenseman Garrett Haar returned to the Utah lineup Saturday, after missing the first 13 games following an injury on day one of training camp, and finished with a plus-one in the game. After being acquired just prior to the ECHL trade deadline last year, Haar had two goals, three assists and a plus-four in ten regular season games and two assists in five playoff games.
Two Point-A-Game Scorers Called Up
Greger Hanson (3 goals, 5 assists: 7 games) has been with Anaheim’s AHL affiliate in San Diego since October 28 and Kyle Thomas (2 goals, 12 assists: 12 games) was called up after morning skate Friday.

Z-104, Utah’s #1 Country Station, returns as the Official Country Station of the Grizzlies with select games broadcast live on the legendary KSOP AM 1370; featuring Utah’s Classic Country. Denny joins Dave and Deb the Friday of every weekend home stand just after 9 a.m. on Z-104, followed by a visit with Country Joe on AM 1370.
KMYU will begin its sixth season of televising Grizzlies games after the holidays. A complete schedule will be announced before hand as Denny joins Adam Mikulich from 2 News Talkin’ Sports.
