Grizzlies Issue 6 Qualifying Offers For 18-19

West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced today that the team has issued qualifying offers to six players for the 2018-2019 season.


Defensemen
Taylor Richart, Tied for ECHL lead for goals by defensemen with 17 in 2017-2018.
Gage Ausmus, Eight assists in 22 games and a plus-four after being acquired from Colorado February 14.
Sam Windle, 2 goals, 16 assists and a plus-8 playing in 68 of 72 games last year.

Forward
Joey Ratelle, Grizzlies acquired his ECHL playing rights on June 14 after he scored 23 goals in rookie season with Colorado.

Goaltenders
Kevin Carr, 12-11-3 with Utah in 17-18 before departing for Europe in January. The Grizzlies desire to re-sign him for 18-19.
Joel Rumpel, Signed to play in Europe, the Grizzlies have chosen to retain his rights for 2018-2019.

Should a player not return their signed qualifying offer by July16, the Grizzlies will continue to hold their playing rights for 2018-2019 meaning Utah can re-sign them at a later date, trade their rights to another team or choose to take no further action.

Utah announced an affiliation agreement with the Colorado Avalanche on June 25, 2018.

The Grizzlies enter their 24th season in Utah in 2018-2019; having qualified for the playoffs in 17 of their first 23 seasons and in ten of their last eleven.

Utah is led by sixth-year Head Coach and General Manager Tim Branham, the longest tenured Head Coach in team history and the second-longest tenured

Head Coach in the ECHL. The 37-year-old’s next win will make him the most winning Head Coach in team history as he currently stands at 178-136-45.

The Grizzlies drew a modern day record of 203,990 fans to Maverik Center in 2017-2018 with two sellout crowds of over 10,000 fans and nine crowds of over 7,000 fans as they ranked 5th in the 27-team ECHL in attendance for a second-straight year with an average of nearly 6,000 fans-per-game.

The Grizzlies open the regular season on Friday, October 12 against Rapid City at Maverik Center.
