Marchment, Harms, Misiak, Maxwell: First Four Re-Signed For 18-19

06/22/2018 2:25 PM -

West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham today announced the team’s first four signings for the 2018-2019 season as forwards Jake Marchment, Brendan Harms, Mitch Maxwell and Ryan Misiak.

Marchment, 23, had 10 goals and nine assists for 19 points in 22 games with Utah after being acquired from Colorado on February 15. He was tied as Utah’s second-leading scorer in that stretch. In total last season, he had 18 goals and 32 points for 50 points in 71 games. Nine of his ten goals with Utah tied games or gave the Grizzlies the lead, including five of his ten goals that gave Utah 1-0 first period leads. Four of his ten goals came on the power-play.

“Jake had a tremendous season,” said Branham. “50 points, he’s great on draws, sticks up for teammates and knows what it takes to win. We are happy to have him back.”

Harms, 24, had 13 goals and 25 assists for 38 points in 62 games during his rookie season in 2017-2018. He was Utah’s third-leading scorer after Christmas with 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points in 42 games.

“Brendan made some real big strides last season because of his hard work and determination,” said Branham. “He’s the kind of glue guy that everyone wants.”

Misiak, 26, and entering his third season in Utah, had 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points last year as he was the only Grizzlies player to appear in all 72 games. It marked the second-straight season that he has had 15 or more goals after he appeared in 71 of 72 games with Rapid City in 2016-2017. He had 13 goals and 27 assists for 40 points in 66 games with Utah and Rapid City in 2015-2016.

“Ryan had a very good season for us again,” said Branham. “He is a very versatile player who is very valuable throughout the season. His speed and opportunistic play is tough to defend.”

, 27, joined the Grizzlies February 15 after finishing college as Captain at the University of Lethbridge after five seasons of college hockey and two years in the WHL with Lethbridge between a two-year LDS Church Mission to West Virginia. He had four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 20 games with Utah to go along with a plus-four.

“Mitch is a pro,” said Branham. “He is a very intelligent player who makes good decisions. We saw that in the big games that we had down the stretch.”

The Grizzlies open the regular season on Friday, October 12 against Rapid City at Maverik Center.
