Shuffling The Deck
Utah’s five-game winning streak coincides with some recent roster moves. Goaltender Joel Rumpel is 4-1 with Utah with a 2.90 Goals-Against-Average and a .918 Save Percentage. Jake Marchment has three power-play goals and two assists in five games since being acquired from Colorado on February 15. He has given Utah a 1-0 first period lead on the power-play in three of his five games with the Grizzlies. Also acquired from Colorado on February 15, Defenseman Gage Ausmus has one assist and is a plus-three in five games with Utah. Recently signed Free Agent Sam Babintsev scored the game-winning goal in the shootout Saturday and had three assists against Wichita over the weekend. Just out of the University of Lethbridge, Mitch Maxwell recorded his first professional point Friday.

Goaltender’s Records
Grizzlies Goaltenders Joel Rumpel and Sean Maguire have a combined ECHL record this year of 26-17-1 as Rumpel is 4-1 with Utah and 15-9 overall. Maguire is 4-3-1-0 with Utah and 11-8-1-0 overall. Maguire was assigned to Utah by the Arizona Coyotes on January 17 and Rumpel was acquired in a trade with Wichita on February 8.

Winning Streak Special Teams
Utah is 7-23 (30.4-percent) on the power-play during their current five-game winning streak and has outscored the opposition 10-4 overall on special teams as they’ve also added three shorthanded goals.

Ortega’s Specialty
Utah rookie Austin Ortega has 16 of his 33 points in 23 games on the power-play. He’s second among ECHL rookies with seven of his 14 goals coming on the power-play. Utah’s power-play is 27 for the last 102 (26.4-percent) since Ortega joined the Grizzlies as he has eight goals and eight assists. Prior to Ortega’s arrival, Utah was 17 for 157 on the power-play for a 10.8-percent conversion rate. The California native has a Utah season-high seven game scoring streak entering the week.
