Saturday: Utah at Colorado, 7 p.m. Utah’s Classic Country AM 1370, ECHL TV
The Grizzlies begin a stretch of 36-straight division games starting Friday in Colorado. Utah has collected points in eight-straight division contests and are 4-3-4-0 in games against division opponents this season.
The Grizzlies have had more success in their division the previous two seasons going 53-33-6-3 in the division and 21-22-2-2 outside of it. Utah has opened the season with only 11 of 19 games against the division.
Back In The Lineup
The Grizzlies expect to welcome Jon Puskar back to the lineup this weekend after he sustained an injury the third game of the season in Idaho on October 18 and has since missed 16-straight games. Puskar, in his third year in Utah, had 22 goals and 21 assists for 43 points in 63 games last season with 10 penalty minutes.
Four-Game Scoring Streak For Misiak
Ryan Misiak has scored in four-straight games with one goal and three assists. He has also scored in seven of the last nine games with three goals and four assists after tallying two assists in his first 10 games of the year.
Shots On Goal
As the Grizzlies look to turn more shots into goals, they’re definitely getting the scoring chances. Utah has 37 shots or more in three of the last four games, 34 shots or more in ten of nineteen games and 40 shots or more four times so far this season. Utah had 10 shots or more during 15 of the 21 periods on their just completed seven-game home stand. Grizzlies rookie defenseman Cliff Watson enters the week tied for the ECHL lead in shots by rookies with 63.
The Grizzlies and Colorado have played four-straight one-goal games, including two past overtime as Utah looks for their first win of the season against the Eagles. It marks the second-straight year that Utah and Colorado have opened the season series with at least two overtime games in their first four contests of the season and at least the first three games being decided by a single goal. Utah has never had a losing season record against Colorado in six seasons.
