Loveland, Colorado – The Colorado Eagles defeated the Utah Grizzlies 7-1 Saturday night at Budweiser Events Center to win their 15th game in a row.
After trailing 2-0 after one period, the Grizzlies got within one on a five-on-three power-play goal by Colin Martin (15) from Marc-Andre Levesque and Michael Pelech during a stretch where the Grizzlies were on the power-play for five minutes and 32 seconds straight.
The Grizzlies held the game at 2-1 for six minutes and 17 seconds with a chance to tie before the Eagles added two late goals to make it 4-1 at the intermission.
Colorado piled on three goals in the third period for the 7-1 final.
The Eagles scored 50 seconds in on a failed Utah clearing attempt and then on a five-on-three power-play with 6:02 left in the first period.
Troy Redmann took the loss in goal.
The Grizzlies return home Wednesday, March 1; Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4 to host Alaska at 7 p.m. each night.
