Last night snapped Utah’s six-game regular season unbeaten streak against Colorado and marked the first time in nine regular season games that the Grizzlies haven’t held a lead against Colorado.
Utah looks to improve to 6-2 this year when immediately departing town after a game as they have won three-straight games in those “getaway day” instances.
Saturday is the Grizzlies best night of the week with a 10-5-0-2 record on Saturdays, including 4-3 on the road.
Utah is going for their fourth-straight series on the road of at least three of six points against a division opponent having collected three of six in Rapid City January 11-14, all six in
Boise February 1-4 and four of six in Alaska February 8-10. They have been able to finish strong by going 3-0 in game threes.
As we talked about last night, the Grizzlies just need to keep the puck out of the back of the net. They have seven goals in two games to start the series and are 24-7-2-0 when scoring at least three this season; so three or more usually gets the job done.
The Grizzlies continue to find a way to score quickly. They now have scored a period of two goals in three of the last four games, 12 of their last 14 and 15 of their last 18 contests.
Erik Higby and Ralph Cuddemi each have three goals in two games this week in Colorado.
Ralph Cuddemi has 13 shots in two games this week on the road, which is just one off of his season-high for shots in a two-game stretch.
The Grizzlies have come out strong with 10 shots or more in six-straight games in the first period and in 13 of their last 15 contests overall.

The Grizzlies at 3-0-2-0 against Colorado have had success against the Eagles by staying out of the penalty box against their league-leading power-play. They have gone shorthanded only 17 times in five games against Colorado and gone 16-for-17 on the penalty-kill.
The Grizzlies have also scored the first goal in four of five games against Colorado who is 28-1-0-1 when scoring first.
Utah snapped Colorado’s eight game winning streak in December after starting a home and home series with an overtime loss against the Eagles the game before. Tonight, they will look to end their 13-game winning streak after starting the three-game series with an overtime loss on Wednesday.
Ralph Cuddemi leads all scorers in the season series so far with five goals and three assists for eight points in five games.
Cuddemi has multiple-points in 10 of the last 16 games that he has scored a point in and 12 of the last 20 games overall. He has scored at least two goals eight times in a game this year.
Erik Higby has recorded two goals and three assists in seven games since returning February 8 for the first time since December 14. Three of those points have been recorded as a defenseman.
Marc-Andre Levesque is in the middle of six-straight games against Colorado after he played his last three games with Alaska against Colorado. He is also in the middle of a stretch of 14 of 23 games against Colorado as Alaska played them in six of his last nine games there and Utah started a stretch Wednesday of eight of their next 14 games against the Eagles.
Kevin Boyle has been recalled by Anaheim and assigned to San Diego for the second time in a week. Troy Redmann and Ryan Faragher will be the uniformed goaltenders for the Grizzlies for the rest of the weekend.

Marc-Andre Levesque will make his Grizzlies debut tonight after being acquired from Alaska on Monday. He was a teammate of Grizzlies forward Colin Martin in college and also went the route of playing four years of major junior hockey and four years of college. He had one assist and a plus-four in four games against Utah this year.
ICYMI: Levesque left Alaska in his rookie season where he leads Aces defensemen with a plus-ten and was third in scoring by defensemen with two goals and 13 assists for 15 points in 30 games.
Forward Zac Larraza has rejoined the Grizzlies after having 1 goal and 1 assist in two road games earlier this year in Idaho. He had four goals and three assists for seven points in 15 games in San Diego this year. Last year he had 20 goals and 10 assists for 30 points in 37 games in Manchester of the ECHL amidst several AHL call ups.
Utah’s stretch of 16-6-2-1 started with an overtime loss and a standings point against Colorado on December 21 followed by a 3-1 win here two nights later on December 23.
The Eagles come into tonight with a 12-game winning streak. Utah snapped Colorado’s eight-game winning streak here on December 23.
Utah starts a stretch of eight of their next 14 games against Colorado tonight.
The Grizzlies will look to build on a stretch of 9-3-1-0 in their last 13 road games.

-Utah completes six game in 20 days against Idaho to start February of six of their last nine overall against Idaho.
A Win Today
-Ties Utah with Alaska for the fourth spot in the Mountain Division.
-Gives Utah their fifth-straight win on a holiday matinee at Maverik Center.
-Utah is 11-4-2 on Maverik Mondays under Tim Branham and has averaged 6,419 fans-per-game during those games.
Another D-Man Added
-The Grizzlies have added defenseman Brandon Lubin from the SPHL’s Evansville Thunderbolts where he had two goals and two assists for four points in 18 games after starting his rookie season in Pensacola where he had one goal and six assists for seven points in 15 games.
-He was a teammate of forward Jon Puskar at American International College.
-Utah has guaranteed their third season in the last four of .500 or better against Idaho.
-A win today ties Utah with 2013-2014 and 2011-2012 with the most wins against Idaho ever in a season series at eight.
-Utah has already guaranteed themselves the fewest regulation losses in a series against Idaho after 8-4-1-1 was their previous best in 2013-2014. They also lost only four against Idaho in 2008-2009 and 2011-2012.

Playing For A Cause
-Utah is 2-1 on Saturday night Pink In The Rink games under Tim Branham and 9-1 on Guns N Hoses, Military and Pink In The Rink Saturday nights combined.
-Like last night, Utah returned from a successful road trip on March 11, 2016 and lost 6-1 to Colorado, before beating them 5-2 the next night.
-Utah is still 7-2 against Idaho on the season against Idaho with 14 points to Idaho’s seven in the head-to-head.
-The loss was Utah’s first to a team besides Alaska since January 11, spanning over a month.
-Utah hasn’t lost two-straight games in over two months (December 14-17).
-Utah is 2-0 this year after giving up eight goals in a game.
-Idaho hasn’t beaten Utah in two-straight games all year.
-Alaska lost last night 4-3 at home to Colorado, so the Grizzlies remain within three points of the Aces.

-Utah hosts Idaho tonight in the ninth of eleven meetings between the two teams.
-Utah and the Steelheads meet again Saturday at 7 p.m. and Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the final meetings of the regular season.
-Grizzlies have added rookie defenseman Sean Robertson, who was with team in training camp.
-He was fourth in the SPHL in scoring by defensemen with 22 assists in 33 games with Fayetteville who had won eight of their last ten games.
-He was third in the SPHL among defensemen with a plus-15 and tied for fifth overall
-He appeared in both Utah preseason wins against Idaho.

-The Grizzlies are 7-1 against Idaho this year with five of the seven wins coming in regulation.
-Utah has 14 points against Idaho this year, while the Steelheads have four points against the Grizzlies with a win and two overtime losses.

The Grizzlies look to win their fourth three-game series in Alaska in the last six going back to December 2014. They look for at least three points for the fifth time in six series in Anchorage.
Last night was the ninth time in 47 games that the Grizzlies and their opposition didn’t score a power-play goal as they improved to 5-4 in those games.
A win tonight makes Utah 10-3-1-0 on the road since December 23 and 15-4-1-0 in their last 20 games.
Interestingly enough, more than half of the first two periods last night was played non five-on-five with only 19:23 played at even strength. However, all three goals in the game were scored five-on-five.
Utah has won six-straight games when scoring the first goal in a game. Utah looks to improve to 3-1 in game three of a series on the road this year. The Grizzlies are 5-1 this year when departing immediately after the game as they will do tonight to take a redeye flight back to Salt Lake.
Grizzlies goaltending has stopped 272 of 295 shots during this 8-1 stretch for a .922 save percentage and a 2.54 goals-against-average. Kevin Boyle has stopped 74 of 77 for a .961 Save Percentage and a 1.49 Goals-Against-Average in his last two starts for the Grizzlies since returning from San Diego and going 2-0.
This is the second time this season that Kevin Boyle will start on back-to-back days this year. He stopped 26 of 28 January 7 in a 3-2 win over San Antonio after starting the night before.
Taylor Richart’s five-game scoring streak is the longest by a Grizzlies defenseman this year with three goals and three assists.

Utah has erased four of five deficits through four games on this road stretch, three by a single goal and one by two goals.
The Grizzlies are 4-2-1-0 on the road on game two of a series this year.
Erik Bradford’s scoring streak is now at ten-straight games, the longest since Mitch Wahl had an eleven-game scoring streak from January 6-February 9, 2013.
Erik Higby scored a goal in his first game since December 14 last night, which gives him six goals and two assists in his last eight games going back to November 27. He has three goals in his last two games in Anchorage and five goals and two assists for seven points in his last ten games in Anchorage.
The Grizzlies have now scored a power-play goal in eight of their last nine games for an 11/51 clip and a 21.5-percent rate. Utah is 5 for their last 19 against Alaska over the last three games played for a 26.3-percent clip.
Last night was the third 45-save performance the Grizzlies have received in the last five years as Ryan Faragher stopped 45/48 shots. Eric Levine stopped 45 in a 4-3 shootout win over Idaho on March 28, 2015. Adam Morrison stopped 45 shots versus Idaho on March 2, 2013 in a 3-2 shootout loss.
Kevin Boyle is 6-1-2 in this last nine starts going back to December 27 combining his numbers with Utah and San Diego. He has allowed two goals in three-straight starts that have all gone past regulation. He has allowed two goals in regulation in three-straight starts for Utah stopping 80 of 87 for a .919 save percentage. He has allowed three goals or less in ten of his last eleven starts combined and two goals or less in seven of his last nine starts combined.

The current seven-game winning streak started with a 6-3 win against Alaska on January 21.
Utah is riding their longest winning streak since they won nine-straight games October 29-November 24, 2005; which tied the longest winning streak in team history. They also won nine-straight games November 3, 1995 to December 1, 1995.
Toledo’s nine-game winning streak (November 12-December 9) is the longest in the ECHL this season. Colorado and Reading each had eight-game winning streaks this season, with Utah snapping Colorado’s on December 23.
Utah’s seven-game winning streak is tied for the third longest in the league this year. Their nine-game winless skid from November 23-December 4 is the third longest in the ECHL this year as well.
Erik Bradford’s nine-game scoring streak is currently tied for the fourth longest in the league with four goals and nine assists during that stretch.
The Grizzlies came from behind in two of three games in Idaho last week, giving up the first goal in two of three games. They erased two one-goal leads Wednesday and a two-goal lead on Saturday in wins.
Utah went a season-high three-for-seven on the power-play in their last game against Alaska on January 21 and four-for-fourteen on the power-play for the weekend overall. That weekend started a streak of Utah scoring a power-play goal in seven of their last eight games .
The Grizzlies haven’t allowed a first period goal in five of their last six games.
Like Utah with Idaho last week, the Grizzlies also start a busy stretch with Alaska tonight as they will play six of their next 12 games against the Aces.
To this point, Ryan Faragher has started all five games against Alaska this year, while Kevin Carr has played all five games against Utah. Though both teams also have NHL prospects on the roster now with Anaheim’s Kevin Boyle and Vancouver’s Michael Garteig both active.
It’s the second-straight week that the Grizzlies come into a building to play a team that was swept on the road last week by another division opponent as Alaska also recorded one of six points against Colorado last week just like Idaho got one of six points here in Anchorage before returning home to play Utah last week.

Utah at 8-1-1-0 has the best ten game stretch in the ECHL and their six-game winning streak is the longest in the ECHL.
The Grizzlies have scored 68 goals in their last 15 games after scoring 79 goals in their first 29 games. Utah is averaging 4.85 goals-per-game during this 11-3-1 stretch since Christmas and has increased their goals-per-game average to 3.27 up.55 goals-per-game from their average coming back from Christmas on December 28.
A win tonight gives Utah a seven-game winning streak for the first time since October 15-29, 2011. A winning streak that started with a 3-2 win in Idaho. That same season the Grizzlies also had a three-game series sweep in Boise.
The Grizzlies have swept one three-game series in Idaho as they go for their second three-game series sweep in Boise in their last three three-game series here. Utah won three-straight games in Boise February 22-25, 2012 winning 4-3 in a shootout, 4-3 and 4-2 on a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday set. Utah took three of six points here February 27, March 1 and March 2, 2013 the last time they played Wednesday, Friday and Saturday in Idaho.
Utah has outscored the Steelheads 8-3 five-on-five in this series, with four five-on-five goals each night. Idaho has outscored Utah 5-1 on special teams.
Colin Martin has extended his scoring streak to six games, scoring in all six wins with six goals and two assists. Erik Bradford now has an eight-game scoring streak with four goals and eight assists. He has a goal in four-straight games which ties Mathieu Aubin for the season-high. Alex Krushelnyski scored in five-straight games November 27-December 9, 2015.
Cam Reid has one goal and four assists in this series so far after assisting on Utah’s first three goals last night.

The Grizzlies look to win six-straight games for the first time since they won seven-straight contests October 15-November 4, 2011. Utah had two five-game winning streaks last year and one in 2013-2014.
Utah outscored the Steelheads 4-2 five-on-five on Wednesday. Ryan Faragher finished with two assists and now has four on the season.
The five-game winning streak is tied with Kalamazoo for the longest current streak in the ECHL.
The Grizzlies have scored a first period goal in eight-straight games, they have outscored the opposition 14-5 in the second periods over the last seven games and they have taken a lead of two or more goals to the third period in four-straight games.
Austen Brassard has an eight-game scoring streak going into tonight with three goals and eight assists. It’s the longest for the Grizzlies since Alex Krushelnyski had a nine-game scoring streak March 2-19.
Utah has scored a power-play in six-straight games for the first time since March 5-19 of last season.
Kevin Boyle has been reassigned to the team by the Anaheim Ducks. He is 5-3-3 in San Diego (AHL) this year with a 2.33 Goals-Against-Average and a .933 Save Percentage. He played very well with Utah before his call-up on November 24 stopping 59 of 64 shots over his last two games with Utah for a .921 save percentage and a Goals-Against-Average of under 2.50.
Idaho dropped to 3-9 on Wednesdays, but is 21-4-4-2 on every other day of the week.

The Grizzlies have scored four goals or more in four of five games against Idaho as they enter tonight with four or more goals in nine of the last 12. Three-straight games with Utah and Idaho have had nine or more goals combined.
Utah looks to build on their 4-1 record against Idaho this year as the two teams play the first of six games over the next 20 days and start a stretch of six of Utah’s next nine games.
Idaho’s power-play is fourth in the ECHL and will go up against Utah’s fifth-ranked penalty-kill three of the next four nights. Utah is 16-for-19 (84.2-percent) on the penalty-kill against Idaho this season with the best penalty-killing being staying out of the box. They have gone shorthanded three times or fewer in three-straight games.
Jon Puskar leads Utah in scoring with five goals and four assists for nine points in five games against Idaho. C.J. Eick is second with four goals and three assists for seven points in five games.
Idaho has 14 players with at least one goal this year against Utah, but no player has more than two goals with four players scoring two goals against Utah.
This is the first Wednesday, Friday and Saturday series for Utah in Boise since February 27, March 1 and March 2, 2013.
