Tonight marks the first time in five seasons that the Grizzlies aren’t opening the season against Idaho. They also start the 2015-2016 regular season in the same place where the 2014-2015 regular season came to an end after the Grizzlies won two-straight from Colorado April 10 and 11.

Last year’s leading scorer Mathieu Aubin opens the season on reserve and day-to-day after sustaining an injury in the final preseason game Saturday.

Last year’s third leading scorer Alex Krushelnyski joined the team last weekend but did not appear in either Utah preseason game. He was in camp with the New York Rangers AHL affiliate in Hartford. Krushelnyski led Utah last year against Colorado in scoring with six goals and eight assists for 14 points.

Both Utah and Colorado had their 2014-2015 seasons end against Ontario after the Reign beat the Eagles in the first round and Utah in the second round.

Utah is 5-1-1-0 in their last seven games to open a season.
