Both teams have been off since meeting Saturday in Colorado after each winning a home game Friday and Saturday.
The goaltender matchup this weekend on both sides is pretty fluid right now with Anaheim prospects Etienne Marcoux and Ryan Faragher splitting time for Utah. Meanwhile, Colorado is currently rotating through three solid goaltenders.
The Grizzlies are playing at home on Halloween for the first time since 2003.
-Rookie Alex Krushelnyski, who put up two assists in his first two pro games with the Grizzlies, has returned to the team after immediately being called up by the Anaheim Ducks AHL affiliate in Norfolk. He played in one game with the Admirals.
-Utah has acquired six-foot-five defenseman Myles Harvey from the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for future considerations.
-In his second pro season, Harvey attended Anaheim Ducks Prospects Camp this past summer.
-Captain Channing Boe joins fellow defenseman Kevin Ryan on 21-Day IR after sustaining and undisclosed injury Saturday in Colorado.
Game Day Blog Entry: October 25

The Grizzlies will look to ruin a home opener for the second-straight week after beating Idaho 3-2 last Saturday. Colorado went 2-2 through Rapid City and Utah before returning home today for their first home game.
Utah is unbeaten in three-straight games at 2-0-1-0 and looks to go 2-0 on the road tonight.
Since dropping a 3-1 decision last Friday to Idaho, the Grizzlies have gone 6-18 on the power-play and 13-13 on the penalty-kill.
The Grizzlies have also been solid in the first period since opening night, outscoring the opposition 4-2 the last three games and outshooting them 40-23.
Utah went 5-1 here in Colorado last year in what has been one of the toughest buildings in minor league hockey to play in since they began play in 2003.
Whether it be Ryan Faragher or Etienne Marcoux, Grizzlies goaltending has been solid allowing just 10 goals in 4 games and stopping 111 of 121 shots for a .917 save percentage.

The Grizzlies play the second of five-straight games with the Eagles and the second game in three nights with Colorado this evening. Utah and the Eagles meet tomorrow in Loveland for Colorado’s home opener. The same two teams will be back at Maverik Center for Friday and Saturday action next week. Colorado opened the season series with a 3-2 overtime win against Utah on Wednesday.
Last 2 Games
Both teams have collected points in two-straight games after they both lost their openers last Friday by a combined score of 8-2. Utah is 4-12 on the power-play the last two games and 8-8 on the penalty-kill. Danick Paquette has three assists in the last two games. Connor Hardowa has one goal and one assist.
Four of Utah’s seven goals have been scored on the power-play. Utah is 10-11 on the penalty-kill. Wednesday was the 8th time in team history that the Grizzlies have given up two shorthanded goals in a game.
Michael Pelech has a goal in each game at Maverik Center this year.
Utah outshot the Eagles 11-5 in the first period, but was outshot 28-16 the rest of the way. H.T. Lenz and Michael Colavecchia both made their pro debuts on Wednesday.
Charles Roussel scored in his third-straight game to start the year and leads the Grizzlies with one goal and three assists in four games. Roussel is currently second among ECHL defensemen in scoring. Last year the Grizzlies had only one defenseman in their top 11 in scoring.
Ducks Goaltenders Make Debuts
Etienne Marcoux has stopped 58 of 64 shots with a .906 save percentage and a 2.94 goals-against-average.
Ryan Faragher stopped 22 of 24 in his pro debut Saturday and 22 of his last 23 in a 3-2 win over Idaho.
First Goal, Shooting Leader
TJ Syner has four shots in each of his first three games with Utah. Syner has scored Utah’s first goal of the game in two-straight first period.

After logging 2 assists in his first 2 pro games, rookie Alex Krushelnyski was loaned to Norfolk on Tuesday.
The Grizzlies have signed rookie Dalton Speelman out of the University of New Hampshire, who was the team’s final cut.
Utah hosts the Eagles tonight and Friday, before heading to Loveland for Colorado’s home opener Friday.
Utah finished the season 9-1 versus Colorado after losing 3-2 to the Eagles in game one of the season series on November 16 at Maverik Center last year.
The Eagles opened the season by also splitting 2 games as they were Rapid City last weekend, losing 5-1 on Friday and winning 3-2 Saturday.

It’s common for a talented team to come out and be a little off on Opening Night. Utah beat Idaho 4-0 last year to start the season before Idaho quickly rebounded. In 2011, Utah lost 4-1 to Idaho at home on Opening Night and rebounded the next night to beat the Steelheads 3-2 in Boise as they proceeded to roll off seven-straight wins.
Rookie Alex Krushelnyski, the last player signed by Tim Branham before training camp had four shots and assisted on Utah’s only goal in his pro debut.
Utah had plenty of chances in last night’s 3-1 loss, the game was 2-0 Idaho for over 42 minutes and the Grizzlies had four power-plays during that time, including a five-minute major after Danick Paquette was boarded. Idaho goaltender Olivier Roy was the story of the night stopping 30 of 31 shots as the Grizzlies had plenty of quality scoring chances.
Tim Branham will go back with the same lineup of skaters tonight as the team looks to redeem themselves after last night’s loss in front of the largest Opening Night crowd in the ECHL of 7,963 and the Grizzlies largest Opening Night in 13 years.
Utah hasn’t been 0-2 since 2008.

Whether it be Etienne Marcoux in goal tonight or Ryan Faragher, both will be making their professional debuts. Both are under contract with the Anaheim Ducks.
This is the fourth-straight season and the fifth time in the last seven seasons that the Grizzlies and Steelheads have opened the season against each other.
Utah is 5-1 in their last six season openers going back to 2008.
Utah has won two-straight season openers against Idaho after dropping a 4-1 decision to the Steelheads at Maverik Center to open the 2011-2012 season. Utah won 4-0 last year and 5-3 the year before in Boise.
The Grizzlies have had a Grizzlies player get a hat trick on two-straight opening nights. Riley Armstrong in 2012 and Jamie MacQueen with four goals in 2013.
